VANAD Group Acquires CyberTwice: Dutch Family Businesses Join Forces

Jul 16, 2024 11:03:01 AM

As of today, VANAD Group has acquired the IT company CyberTwice. VANAD Group is an internationally operating family business with over 1,500 employees that provides innovative business solutions in the field of software, information, and communication technology. CyberTwice, active in 17 countries, is an Independent Software Vendor (ISV) that develops applications for enterprises and governments based on Azure (Microsoft). The founders of both family businesses have a combined 110 years of experience in the ICT sector. Ad Nederlof (77), founder of VANAD Group, states: “I am pleased with the synergy between both companies and both families. VANAD Group has proven that we can nurture young companies to maturity. We are always looking for ICT companies with a promising product-market combination, such as CyberTwice.” Sil Steffens (72), founder of CyberTwice, is also content with the acquisition: “This ensures the continuity of our customers and employees.” Radboud Heinink, who has been active within VANAD Group for 14 years, will become the new Managing Director of CyberTwice.  Cloud Solution for IP Access Control via Microsoft Teams

At CyberTwice in Heerhugowaard, 13 highly qualified people work on the latest technologies. In 2020, CyberTwice introduced the CyberGate SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) service for access control via Microsoft Teams. This allows IP Video Door Intercoms, IP Speakers, and IP CCTV Cameras to communicate with Microsoft Teams users, with both audio and video connections. Recording with ATTEST (the Communications & Surveillance Recording solution for Microsoft Teams) ensures that all Teams calls and meetings are stored in a manner that complies with laws and regulations.

“With the acquisition of CyberTwice, this underlying technology can be incorporated into the various divisions of VANAD Group,” says Ad Nederlof. “This recording technology is particularly interesting for our company Quandago, with which we provide solutions for contact centers, knowledge management, and business automation.” More than 50 different cameras, intercoms, and public address systems have already been integrated with Microsoft.

 Family Businesses Find Each Other

“With the addition of CyberTwice to the VANAD Group portfolio, I look forward to working with my peer Sil Steffens. He will remain active as an advisor in the vision & strategy team of VANAD Group, where his technical expertise nicely complements my commercial mindset,” says Ad Nederlof.

Ad Nederlof’s son, Arthur Nederlof, has been the CEO and co-owner of VANAD Group for over 16 years. Sil Steffens’ two sons will also continue to work for CyberTwice. The daily management of CyberTwice will be handled by Radboud Heinink. “As an entrepreneur, I like to be in the driver’s seat. But now, I’m really going to hand over the wheel to Radboud,” says Sil Steffens.

 International Expansion

Both VANAD Group and CyberTwice are active internationally. To further continue the international expansion of CyberTwice, Ad Nederlof’s expertise will be invaluable. Ad Nederlof was vice-president of Oracle, board director of Exact, and President & CEO of the American company Genesys, which was sold to Alcatel in 2000 for 1.8 billion dollars. After seven years in Silicon Valley (San Francisco), Ad Nederlof decided, after five years as CEO at Genesys, to use his knowledge and experience for his own ventures within VANAD Group.
